Specialties

At Michigan Outpatient Surgery Center, leading surgeons provide the highest quality of eye surgery to residents of Detroit and surrounding communities. We perform a full range of ocular and oculoplastic surgery procedures to patients of all ages.

LASIK & Vision Correction Surgery

Vision correction surgical procedures such as LASIK, PRK, and EVO ICL™ make it possible for our patients to embrace visual freedom by reducing or even eliminating their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.

Premium Cataract Surgery

When cataracts have progressed to the extent that blurry vision impacts a patient’s day-to-day life, cataract surgery is performed to restore visual clarity. In addition to standard cataract surgery, we offer premium cataract surgery using customized intraocular lenses (IOLs) to meet each patient’s lifestyle and vision goals.

Premium IOLs

We offer a variety of premium IOL options for patients undergoing cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange, including the Light Adjustable Lens™ as well as toric IOLs for patients with astigmatism, extended depth of focus IOLs, multifocal IOLs, and the Panoptix® Trifocal IOL to give our patients the best opportunity for clear vision at all ranges of vision.

Light Adjustable Lens™ IOL for Cataract Surgery

The Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) offers our patients the very latest in cataract surgery customization for superior visual outcomes. This is the only IOL approved by the FDA that makes it possible for us to fine-tune patients prescriptions AFTER implantation. Patients then come in for 3-5 quick, painless customized sessions over the course of a number of weeks. During these sessions, the lens is exposed to UV light and minute changes are made to the lens until patients achieve their best possible vision before the final prescription is locked in.

Glaucoma Treatment

We specialize in surgical treatment for glaucoma, including Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and laser glaucoma surgery.

Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)

MIGS is an advanced form of glaucoma treatment that can reduce intraocular pressure in patients whose glaucoma has not been adequately managed by drops, lasers or prescriptions. This minimally invasive surgical procedure can be combined with cataract treatment and offers a quick recovery time with minimal complications.

Pediatrics

Effective surgical treatment of pediatric ocular conditions requires advanced technology and a gentle touch. We offer surgery to treat strabismus, tear duct blockages, pediatric cataracts and glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, and eyelid ptosis.

Retina Laser Procedures

Retina laser photocoagulation is a minimally invasive procedure that can slow or prevent the growth of blood vessels in the vitreous and retina in patients with retinal tears, retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Retinal Treatments

We provide advanced surgical treatment of retinal diseases and conditions including retinal detachment, macular holes and puckers, macular degeneration, and more.

Oculoplastics

Our oculoplastic surgeons have the technical expertise and advanced training patients depend on to achieve superior results through reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, including eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and brow lift surgery.

Muscle Balance Surgery (Strabismus)

Strabismus causes the eyes to be misaligned, and may lead to permanent vision loss if not treated properly through ocular muscle balance surgery.

Corneal Cross-Linking

Through Corneal Cross-Linking, our eye surgeons can stop the progression of keratoconus, preserving patients’ vision and potentially reducing the need for corneal transplant surgery in the future.

Corneal Surgery

Our surgeons are experienced in treating corneal conditions such as keratoconus, pterygium, Fuch’s dystrophy, and more using the most advanced technology available.
